The Screedflo mobile batching vehicles:

Although mobile batching plants are used throughout Europe and North America, the Screedflo vehicles are unique to the UK. Each vehicle carries enough dry binder and sand to produce 12m³ of screed, and can be re-filled on site if more than this is required.

The whole batching process is controlled by an on-board computer and accurate automated weigh scales. This ensures that the screed is batched perfectly every time.

The front two thirds of the trailer contains sand, while the back third contains the binder. Behind the binder is a mixing chamber, into which are poured the exact quantities of sand, binder, and after connecting to a water supply on site, finally water. The screed is then mixed for approximately a minute, before being dropped into a reservoir beneath the mixing chamber.

From there the screed is pumped by a powerful screw pump to wherever it is required. The screed can be pumped up to 150m from the trailer, at a rate of up to 8m³ per hour.
